Building connected, inclusive communities

We’ve joined forces with Community Works to develop Communities Together, a project to help build connection, inclusion and belonging across Adur and Worthing. 

The project is funded by the Adur & Worthing Councils Thriving Together Grant Fund and is designed to help bring local people and groups closer, share learning, strengthen understanding between communities, and make sure everyone feels welcome and supported in Adur & Worthing. 

In October 2026, VCSE organisations from Adur and Worthing gathered to network and hear from speakers about how to build connection, inclusion and belonging across Adur and Worthing.

The event featured sessions from:

• Bud Johnston and Annie Whilby of Black Anti-Racism Community Organisation (BARCO), sharing its ‘joy as resistance’ approach to building belonging and meaningful community engagement.
• Ben Dew of Allsorts Youth Project, introducing LGBTQ+ awareness and allyship.
• Emma Edwards of Esteem, exploring neurodiversity, accessible communication and creating inclusive environments with young adults.

Attendees also networked over lunch, which provided an opportunity for local organisations to connect, exchange ideas and develop relationships that support more welcoming, inclusive and resilient communities across Adur and Worthing.

Our Digital Essentials courses are free, friendly sessions that help people get online — and stay safe and confident while doing so.

Held in local venues throughout the year, these short courses are perfect for anyone who:

• Feels left behind by the digital world
• Needs help with smartphones, tablets, or laptops
• Wants to learn more about staying safe online

Whether you’re a complete beginner or just need a bit of support, we’re here to help.

Craftivism blends creativity with positive action. It’s about using craft as a gentle tool for change — and for connection.

Our Craftivism sessions offer a warm, welcoming space for people to come together, reflect, and create. We launched the project with The Lancing Mural, a beautiful patchwork made by local residents that celebrates what it means to belong to the Lancing community.

Don’t bin it – bring it!

Our Repair Café in Lancing runs every third Saturday of the month, offering a place where you can bring broken household items and get help from our volunteer fixers.

From toasters to trousers, we’ll do our best to repair it and save it from landfill — all while having a friendly chat over a cuppa.
