Sector Spotlight: Beehive Care
This month, weâre shining a light on Beehive Care â a local charity rooted in Ferring and now growing its reach across Adur. We caught up with Lynsey Tran to hear more about their journey, achievements, and whatâs next.
âBeehive Care started in Ferring as Abbeyfield Ferring with our care home Cornwell House. We have grown a lot since then but are still very much connected to our roots of Ferring and in 2023 we became an independent charity called Beehive Care. We are a charity organisation that specialises in providing comprehensive care solutions, including care homes, assisted living, support at home, dementia services and respite services.â
Beehive Care has been busy expanding its services in Adur. In June 2025, they opened their second community dementia hive on Lancing High Street, offering vital support to people living with dementia, their families, and carers.
âWe offer free dementia cafĂ©s, support groups and expert advice.â
Their biggest highlights so far?
âOpening our second dementia hive in Lancing and securing lottery funding for our D-CafĂ© ensuring we can continue offering such an amazing free service to the community.â
Itâs clear the warmth of Adurâs community has made an impression too:
âWorking in Adur has shown us how welcoming the community is! We’ve had so much support from local businesses and a real commitment from them to support people affected by dementia.â
Like many small charities, Beehive Care faces challenges around sustainable funding, but they remain positive about the future.
“Funding is always a challenge and something we rely on to grow our services to meet the needs of our community.”
How have you worked with or experienced support from Adur Voluntary Action?
âSome of the AVA team have joined in our Dementia Friends sessions! We have exciting plans to work together â watch this space!â
Looking ahead, Beehive Care will soon be launching their Support at Home service in Adur, offering companionship and domestic help in peopleâs own homes. Theyâre also planning more services at their dementia hive, from finance clinics to carersâ groups.
And if youâre wondering how you can get involved⊠itâs simple:
âJust drop in! We are open Monday â Thursday 10am â 3pm. If you are looking for support, a job or a volunteer role just come in and see us to find out more!â
