Community partnership project – upcoming event
Strengthening Connection and Belonging Across Adur and Worthing. Join us for a FREE networking and training event as part of our Communities Together project in partnership with Community Works.

We’ve joined forces with Community Works to develop Communities Together, a project to help build connection, inclusion and belonging across Adur and Worthing.
The project is funded by the Adur & Worthing Councils Thriving Together grant fund and is designed to help bring local people and groups closer, share learning, strengthen understanding between communities, and make sure everyone feels welcome and supported in Adur & Worthing.
Both Community Works and us have been part of local life for years and we’re very excited to be working together on this project.
The project will offer:
- ‘Building Connected, Inclusive & Resilient Communities’, a free, friendly networking and training event where groups can meet each other, learn about approaches to inclusivity, share ideas, and build new relationships. The event will be held on 21 October at The Barn at Southwick Community Centre.

- A toolkit offering practical tools and resources to support groups in making their activities more inclusive and welcoming.
The project aims to:
- Help support relationships, trust and connection between different groups.
- Support safe spaces where people can learn from one another.
- Create a shared sense of belonging for everyone.
- Share practical equity, diversity and inclusion tips for everything from event design to everyday service delivery.
A lasting legacy for Adur and Worthing
One of the most important parts of Communities Together is what it will leave behind. The project will create:
- Long-lasting relationships between local groups supporting one another.
- A toolkit with templates, guidance and resources any group can use to strengthen their equity, diversity and inclusion approach.
- Shared learning and stronger relationships that help communities work together when challenges arise.
Allyship: useful resources
We’ve seen how powerful allyship work can be. The national NAVCA programme we have been part of has already created a network that is continuing independently — a sign that when people come together around shared values, the impact lasts. Communities Together aims to bring that same long-lasting change to Adur and Worthing.
