The team behind the Downslink Parkrun team are on the look out for volunteers to help put on our weekly free 5k run. The run takes place every Saturday morning at 9am. The run stands at ends on the Downslink underneath the A27 flyover just down from the Red Lion and Amsterdam pub. For those that don’t know Parkrun welcomes runners, joggers and walkers making it highly accessible to all. The event is run completely by volunteers and we need a number each week to ensure the event can be run. We’d love to welcome new volunteers to the team from the local community. You could volunteer every week or one a year and you’d still be very welcome.

What skills do I need?

All the roles are very easy and there will be lots of others around to guide you. We often need marshalls to be out on the course but you could also help to time keep or set up the event. Once you’ve got some experience you could even try out being a run director.
