Are you a caring adult with a few hours to spare? BBBS is looking for Mentors for children, who, for whatever reason, are unable to live with their birth parents. As a Mentor, you would spend a few hours a month, over a period of a year or more, with a child that is suitably matched. You will spend time together doing simple things, such as riding a bike or picking up conkers. This type of Mentoring programme has been shown to increase wellbeing, confidence and outcomes for the child.

What skills do I need?

There are no special skills required, but you need to have patience and kindness, and a willingness to walk alongside a young person. We welcome Mentors of all ages over 18 and from all walks of life, and we provide full training and support throughout your journey together. Use of a vehicle and a driving licence are not essential but highly desirable.
