The Girl’s network is an award-winning charity which works to inspire and empower girls aged 13-19 from the least advantaged communities by connecting role models who are women.Have at lest 3 year’s professional experience of the workplace and the passion to make a difference to a teenage girl’s life , supporting her to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities. We ask our mentors for a commitment for at least one hour a month over the course of a year. We offer full support and training.
What skills do I need?
We are looking for women who:
- have at least 3 years professional experience of the workplace*
- have the passion to make a difference to a teenage girl's life, supporting her to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities
- have the time and willingness to support a girl from the least advantaged communities
- are able to relate well to others
- are good at working through problems
- are able to provide insight from personal experiences
*you do not necessarily have to be working whilst you are

Support available: The support within our organisation is ongoing and from various angles. We are a national network of women supporting women in our mentoring, and mentors connect via an online platform (Ugenie) to share advice, support, guidance and to connect with other professionals. We have regular mentor learning opportunities to support your development as a mentor. We host a monthly drop-in, facilitated by Network Manager staff, where mentors share peer-to-peer advice. Our Sussex Network Manager is also available primarily by phone and email to discuss any concerns or queries you may have. - Training provided

Availability Details
1 hour per month to be held at weekends or after school (3.30/4pm) in the weekday afternoons, according to mentee and mentor’s mutual convenience.
Location
Mentor and mentee sessions to be held in public places (e.g. cafe, library, museum, gallery) at their mutual convenience.
