Volunteering as a Beaver Leader is a deeply rewarding way to make a positive impact on young people and your community. Beavers, aged 6 to 8, are full of curiosity and energy, and as a leader, you’ll help them discover the world around them through fun, friendship, and adventure. You’ll guide them in developing confidence, teamwork, and kindness—skills that will last a lifetime. Being a Beaver Leader isn’t just about supervising activities; it’s about inspiring children to try new things and believe in themselves. You’ll help plan and run games, crafts, outdoor adventures, and even the occasional campfire—creating experiences that young people will remember forever. The role encourages creativity and offers plenty of flexibility to fit around work or family life, with full support and training from fellow leaders in the Group, as well as online learning provided by The Scout Association. Volunteering also benefits you. You’ll build leadership, organisation, and communication skills, and gain experience valued by employers. You’ll join a supportive community of like-minded volunteers who share a passion for helping others and having fun. Most of all, you’ll see the joy and pride on young faces as they achieve something new—whether it’s lighting a campfire, earning a badge, or simply making a new friend. By becoming a Beaver Leader, you’re not only shaping young lives—you’re strengthening your community and growing personally too. It’s an adventure for everyone involved, filled with laughter, learning, and the chance to make a real difference. Availability Details
Our Beavers meet on Wednesday evenings (18:00 - 19:00), with volunteers arriving around 30 minutes before and staying briefly at the end to tidy up
