A Volunteer Supporter and Recruiter helps to support our current volunteers, as well as find the best talent out there and brings them to Scouts. They’re all about nurturing skills, providing a helping hand and making our volunteers’ experiences life changing. - Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and people skills - Ability to identify peoples\' strengths and help support their development - Ability to use multiple avenues to promote, market and recruit volunteers for a varied array of roles - Ability to understand what is required to support and retain volunteers, and a proactive attitude to take initiative and action this - Ability to be organised and demonstrate forward thinking planning

    This is an adult volunteer role (18+)
  • DBS check required
    Free DBS check through The Scout Association. Unfortunately, we are unable to use the DBS update service if applicable at present

  • Driving Licence & Vehicle Required
    While this is desirable, if a vehicle is required then fellow volunteers will be able to support

    We have a volunteer expenses policy as part of our finance policy. This can be shared once you are a full member with us.

  • Ongoing support
    We are a welcoming group of volunteers who support one another in our teams, as well as having the support of a Group Leadership Team
  • Training provided
    Initial online training if required for this role via The Scout Association\'s membership system. Further in-person and online training is also available to develop your leadership skills, your ability to work with young people, or to learn new skills on land and on the water!
  • Volunteer induction
    You will receive a series of introductory learning, as well as a welcome conversation on starting with us, in ensure you are happy in your role and confident in how to carry it out
  • Volunteer Policy
    We follow The Scout Association\'s \'Policy, Organisation and Rules (POR)\', which sets out how we volunteer together.
  • Volunteers covered by insurance
    Volunteers who complete their induction are regarded as full members and are covered under insurance via The Scout Association
  • Wheelchair Access
    We are able to accommodate wheelchair access to the majority of locations that the Group and its sections access

Volunteer time: Flexible - give as much time as you would like to, in order to carry out this role to the best of your ability Location: Mostly home-based, with use of our HQ and other locations and well as being present in the community
