We are looking for Trustees with experience in Health and Safety, to support our Group with their vital behind the scenes role, making sure Scouts runs smoothly, safely, and legally. We’re looking for safe pairs of hands, ‘i’ dotters and ‘t’ crossers. Sound like you? As a Trustee, you’ll be part of a dynamic team working together to make Scouts operate like a well-oiled machine. From managing money to checking meeting places are in tip-top condition, you’ll make sure everything is set up properly, so that young people have the best experience in Scouts. Trustees see the big picture, make decisions and work together. As a team, you’ll ensure that everything’s being done safely and legally, as well as connecting Scouts with your local community. Oh, and it’s fine if you’ve not been a Trustee before. We’ll support you, making sure you learn everything you need to know, as you go.
What skills do I need?
- Ability to understand the roles and responsibilities of a Charity Trustee; someone who is eligible to become a Trustee of a Charity - Ability to identify risk and understand how to manage risk - Ability to provide assurance and ask the right questions - Ability to understand the management of grounds and facilities - Ability to understand organisational and system thinking - Ability to communicate well and influence skills and knowledge development - Ability to collaborate and work well with others - Ability to apply attention to detail, but also exercise good judgement

Initial online training if required for this role via The Scout Association\\\\\\\'s membership system. Further in-person and online training is also available to develop your leadership skills, your ability to work with young people, or to learn new skills on land and on the water! - Volunteer induction
