We have an exciting opportunity for someone with sailing experience to join our sailing activities as a Volunteer Sailing Instructor. We have a wonderful fleet of modern dinghies, with use of Shoreham Sailing Club to sail on the River Adur and out of Shoreham Harbour. We also have connections with the Royal Navy, with whom you can develop and further your skills and qualifications, as well as use their facilities and sail in a range of different locations in the UK If you are a RYA Dinghy Instructor or have equivalent experience and skills, and you\'re interested in helping young people experience sailing please get in touch!
What skills do I need?
- Ability to demonstrate good sailing knowledge and competent sailing skills - Ability to demonstrate awareness of safety and willingness to learn (if not already aware) Scouting rules and how to run a comprehensive sailing session - Ability to, or willingness to learn, how to instruct and teach young people with different needs and skills how to sail - Ability to communicate well and work cooperatively with others

This is an adult volunteer role (18+) - DBS check required

Availability Details
Volunteering time: Flexible - usually our sailing season runs from May to September. However during the off season we are looking to run theory and potentially sporadic training sessions to up-skill our volunteers and young people Location: Variable - 3rd/5th Lancing Sea Scout Group HQ and Shoreham Sailing Club predominantly
